My mother was an avid member of the Relief Society so it was just natural for me to become involved in this wonderful women’s organization while in college 30 years ago.  I saw her give of her time by helping the needy and the sick in the many places we lived.  My father was in the Air Force and we moved every other year.  The constant in our lives was the Relief Society.

Today the purpose of the Relief Society is still the same as it was in my mother’s time—that is, to give relief to those in need. I believe that giving service and love to others enriches our own lives and also the lives of those for whom we serve.
