This class featured storage and use of sugar and pancake mix for long term food storage. The versatility of the cannery pancake mix was demonstrated with recipes as varied as pancakes to pizza and crackers to cobblers. The tasting table also featured samples of freeze dried meals that only require adding boiling water and are ready to eat directly from their pouches along with an excellent freeze dried egg product that tastes just like your fresh scrambled eggs. We also had a guest speaker who discussed San Clemente’s first co-op grocery buying group.
