I am a happily married, forty-year-old mother of five – four girls and one boy. I am able to be a stay-at-home mom, which really means in-the-car-driving-my-kids-around mom. Being a mom is a blessing, but oh so challenging! I love being a member of the Relief Society. It has provided me with friends who offer great support to me as I raise my family. I am able to learn from more seasoned moms who have already raised their children, counsel with moms my age who are currently going through the same challenges as me, and I am also able to mentor younger moms who are just beginning their families. These friends of all ages are great examples to me of Christian love and service. The Relief Society is a place where I feel love, acceptance, safety, and charity. It also provides me opportunities to look outside myself and serve others.
Along with raising my family, I enjoy running and hiking, reading, cooking healthy foods, vacationing with family, and digital scrapbooking. Our family loves to spend our summers at the beach and our winters camping in the San Diego deserts riding motorcycles. I am also finishing my bachelor’s degree (20 years later!) through Brigham Young University’s Independent Study program.
