Place: Cul du sac at Sepulveda and Domingo in Capistrano Beach, in conjunction with Welcome INN’s afternoon feeding

Duties: The Lead Volunteer will be given a key to the iHOPE Storage Locker in Capistrano Beach and will transport a table, toiletries, and clothing to the Distribution point and then return them to the storage unit. Our clients are usually done collecting things they need by 5:00 p.m.
The Lead Volunteer will be assisted by one or two other volunteers.

Mobile Shower Volunteers

Every Saturday (weather permitting) from 8 to 11 am, iHOPE volunteers provide a mobile shower service for the homeless at Blue Fin Construction in Capistrano Beach All volunteers must attend training before participating. iHOPE also runs a background check on all volunteers.

In addition to showers, iHOPE provides basic needs (toiletries, clean T-shirts and underwear), bus passes, and case management. Depending on available funding, iHOPE also provides food cards, prescriptions, and other financial assistance on a case-by-case basis.

An iHOPE board or staff member serves as the Lead Volunteer for these events.Shower volunteers assist with loading and unloading of the shower trailer, setup and teardown, client intake, and shower oversight. We also need drivers who can tow the shower trailer from San Juan to Capo Beach at 7:30 am using a truck provided by iHOPE.
